August is for AniMEALS

For many of our homebound seniors, a pet is more than a companion; they’re family. But feeding and taking care of a beloved pet on a limited income can be challenging. Our AniMEALS Program helps by providing pet food, basic veterinary care, and wellness checks for the pet companions of Meals on Wheels participants.

This August, help us honor our seniors and their pets by supporting August is for AniMEALS. Donate pet food or funds so our clients never have to choose between feeding themselves or their furry friend. Throughout the month, our seven drop-off sites will compete to bring home the 50th Anniversary AniMEALS Cup by collecting the most pet food!

How to help

The AniMEALS program is 100% funded by donations. That means every bag of food and dollar donated makes a real difference.

Thanks to our generous, pet-loving donors, we deliver pet food twice a month and can provide wellness checks, basic veterinary care, and vaccines for the pets of our Meals on Wheels clients.

Community partners across Rowan County are competing to collect the most donations for AniMEALS. Whether you're team dog, team cat, or team both, you can drop off donations at any participating location to help them win gold!

Each item donated counts toward the total weight for that location. The "Top Dog" will earn gold and serious tail wags of appreciation from our four-legged friends.
