FAQ About Volunteering

Q. How old do you have to be to volunteer?

Anyone can volunteer.  We frequently see young children who ride along with parents or grandparents.  We request that children be with a parent, grandparent, guardian or caregiver.

Q. Do volunteers have to be a certain age?

Yes, drivers must be at least 18 years of age.

Q. Can I volunteer if I leave to spend the winter in Florida or plan to travel for an extended length of time?

Yes, we can schedule your volunteer days for the days or weeks that you are available.

Q. Can I volunteer if I can drive, but I can't hop in and out of a car very well?

Yes, all you need is a partner who can be your "jumper," the individual who takes the meals to the door and greets the participant.  Ask a friend or neighbor to be your partner.

Q. Do I have to have someone else ride with me to deliver meals?

We respectfully request that you have a buddy ride with you when you deliver.  You may be the one driving and jumping, but it is safer to travel with a buddy.
